Help Mary raise money for ARE's LGBTQ Center!

Ok, so I post about donating to the new Center a lot. But I truly believe in the power of community, and I have a big fundraising goal. From our Founder's Campaign, Volunteering time, Recurring Giving, to Personalized Bricks - there are a LOT of ways to get involved with and support our work. But this one is slightly different. This ask is for me. It is our Peer-to-Peer campaign that we do every year, it is when I get to tell you why this work is important to me, why what we do matters. Obviously, HIV care is important to me, I've been helping people manage living with HIV for over 11 years now. But the reason I started working with HIV care is because it is also an LGBTQ+ issue, not exclusively, but it still affects my community more than any other group. In this past year, ARE has stepped up the game and opened up an LGBTQ+ center. As one of the co-directors of our center, I get to see first hand some of the impact we have. I get to work in a place where I can be my fully authentic self. I get to tell people about my queer family from my trans brother and polyamorous lesbian relationship - just to name a few of us. I get to meet parents who are just learning their kids are coming out and how to become loving allies. I get to meet trans people who need help navigating our healthcare system. I get to help people make connections that will become their families of choice. The past few months have been immensely rewarding and sometimes humbling. We have done so much with so little. Everything I have been doing for the center has been volunteer work, and I'm also working with an amazing group of volunteers for programming, events, and building resources for our community. We have such big plans for our future and need your help to make it happen. We literally have walls to knock down and barriers to break. There are windows to replace, books to buy, rainbow stickers to be bought, coffee to be brewed, and lives to be changed. Won't you please help us build a place where love wins?
